Reader in Business Economics at the Saïd Business School, and Fellow of Worcester College, University of Oxford.
I am interested in the economics of e-commerce, and more specifically market design for e-commerce applications. There are many interesting issues arrising from the fact that much of the interactions are automated for which the tools of game theory are, in my opinion, very suitable. Also, e-commerce markets are typically competing with other markets so traders will only choose to trade if they believe they can do better than in the alternative. My book is a good summary of the current thinking on this subject.
I have also worked on the economics of information and general game theory. If you are interested in market design of how game theory can be used for this, I recommend that a visit to Al Roth’s web page.
